Advisor – Advanced AI at Centre for Humanitarian Dialogue

This position offers a great opportunity for career growth. As Advisor – Advanced AI, you will shape and deliver the Centre for Humanitarian Dialogue's strategy on advanced AI, design and implement diplomatic activities, and expand networks with key governments, AI companies, and tech communities.

Working as a key member of the Advanced AI and Emerging Technologies (AIET) team, you will ensure that the Centre's activities on advanced AI make a valuable contribution to AI governance discussions.

About the Team

You will work within the Digital Conflict Directorate, the division addressing technology-related risks for international security and conflict. The Directorate comprises four programmes:

• Cyber diplomacy
• Social media and conflict mediation
• AI and emerging technologies
• Outer space security

Key Responsibilities

• Shape the Centre's strategy for informal diplomacy on advanced AI
• Design, plan, and implement dialogue initiatives and related activities on advanced AI in collaboration with colleagues
• Co-chair meetings involving government officials, technology experts, and other actors convened by the Centre
• Represent the Centre on advanced AI with external stakeholders
• Build and maintain key relationships in governments, AI companies, and tech communities, with a focus on the US and China
• Carry out and/or commission analyses of advanced AI risks and risk mitigation in support of dialogue activities, engaging external technical expertise and forging partnerships where relevant
• Provide strategic advice to the AIET programme, contributing to the overall advancement, effectiveness, and impact of its work
• Support the AIET programme's fundraising efforts, including briefing relevant stakeholders on the advanced AI track and providing input to fundraising proposals

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 7 years' experience working on AI risks in industry, government, or related policy or diplomacy settings
• Proven expertise on the implications of advanced AI for national and/or international security
