Job Purpose
The Accountant is responsible for ensuring all organizational events are profitable while maintaining accurate records of materials in inventory and on order. The role involves constantly evaluating inventory costs, ensuring proper costing and timely depreciation, reconciling inventory discrepancies, and notifying supervisors of any irregularities.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure profitability of all organizational events
- Maintain and manage inventory records for materials in stock and on order
- Evaluate and monitor inventory costs
- Ensure accurate costing and timely depreciation of assets
- Reconcile inventory discrepancies and irregularities
- Supervise bookkeeping and maintain accurate financial records
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Business Administration, Finance, Management, Economics, Commerce, Mathematics, or a related field from a reputable university
- Professional qualification: CPA(K)
- Minimum three (3) years of working experience in a similar accounting role within a busy organization
- Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage, Pastel)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Valid certificate of good conduct (mandatory)
