## Title: Tutorial Lecturer in Information Systems & Computing

About the Position

We invite applications from suitably qualified candidates for the position of Tutorial Lecturer in Information Systems & Computing at the University of Eastern Africa, Baraton.

Required Minimum Qualifications and Experience

The successful candidate must meet the following requirements:

  • Hold an earned PhD in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a closely related field from an accredited and recognized university
  • Possess specialization in Cybersecurity, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and/or the Internet of Things (IoT)
  • Be a strong Seventh-day Adventist (SDA) Church believer, committed to upholding and promoting the values, mission, and philosophy of Adventist education
  • Demonstrate a strong research background, with evidence of scholarly publications in reputable peer-reviewed journals and/or conference proceedings
  • Have teaching experience at university or college level
  • Demonstrate the ability to integrate technology, research, and innovation into teaching and learning
  • Possess excellent communication, interpersonal, and mentoring skills

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Teach and facilitate learning at undergraduate and postgraduate levels through lectures, seminars, workshops, tutorials, and other modes of delivery as assigned by the Head of Department
  • Participate in curriculum development, academic advising, and other departmental academic activities
  • Develop, administer, and mark examinations, assignments, and continuous assessment tests
  • Prepare and update learning materials and maintain accurate records to monitor student progress, achievement, and attendance
  • Provide academic advising and guidance to students to support their academic and personal development
  • Contribute to the development, planning, and implementation of high-quality curricula
  • Participate in research activities, including writing research proposals and applying for research grants
  • Participate in the organization and delivery of departmental and faculty seminars
  • Contribute to departmental, faculty, and/or university-wide committees
