## Title: Tutorial Fellow/Lecturer in Journalism and Mass Communication
Position Overview
A reputable organization seeks a dedicated individual for this role in the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
For Lecturer Position:
- Earned PhD in Journalism, Mass Communication, or equivalent qualification from an accredited/recognized university
- Bachelor's degree in the relevant field with a minimum GPA of 3.0/4.0 or Second-Class Upper Division from an accredited/recognized university
- KCSE with at least C+ or equivalent qualification
For Tutorial Fellow Position:
- Master's degree in Journalism or Mass Communication (preferably enrolled in a PhD program)
- Bachelor's degree in the relevant field with a minimum GPA of 3.0/4.0 or Second-Class Upper Division from an accredited/recognized university
- KCSE with at least C+ or equivalent qualification
Additional Requirements (Both Positions):
- Christian in good and regular standing
- Active accreditation by the Media Council of Kenya
Key Responsibilities
- Teach undergraduate courses within the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences and other programs with relevant course requests
- Plan and conduct research and grant writing activities
- Develop teaching materials for blended learning environments
- Participate in the preparation of departmental plans and documents
- Attend and participate in seminars, workshops, and conferences in the relevant field
- Participate in planning, designing, developing, implementing, and evaluating curricula within the department
- Contribute to departmental/school meetings and related activities
- Provide academic advising to students through mentorship and career guidance
- Assist in the supervision of Tutorial Fellows during undergraduate teaching (lecturer role)
- Set, process, moderate, administer, and mark examinations and assignments
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the University administration
