Theatre Nurse

Key Duties Pre-operative Responsibilities - Prepare the operating theatre, instruments, and equipment according to the surgical list. - Conduct thorough pre-operative patient assessments and ensure all documentation is complete. - Confirm surgical consent, patient identity, and site marking. - Uphold strict infection prevention and control standards. Intra-operative Responsibilities - Scrub, circulate, or assist depending on the surgical procedure requirements. - Maintain a sterile field and anticipate the surgeon's needs throughout procedures. - Perform instrument, sponge, and sharp counts accurately. - Monitor patient vitals and respond promptly to changes during surgery. - Operate theatre equipment safely and efficiently. Post-operative Responsibilities - Participate in immediate post-operative care and safe handover to the recovery unit. - Document all nursing interventions, observations, and incidents accurately. - Ensure proper cleaning, sterilization, and storage of theatre equipment and instruments. Requirements: - Diploma/Degree in Nursing - Higher Diploma in Perioperative/Theatre Nursing (Mandatory) - Valid NCK License - Minimum 2 years theatre experience - Strong skills in sterile technique, patient safety & perioperative care
