## Title: Mathematics Teacher

About the Position

University of Eastern Africa, Baraton invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for the position of Mathematics Teacher.

Required Qualifications and Experience

Minimum Educational Requirements:

  • Diploma in Education with a minimum of C+ at KCSE (or equivalent) in at least two teaching subjects, with a minimum grade of C+ (or Credit Pass) in those subjects
  • Bachelor's degree in Education (added advantage)

For Diploma Teacher Applicants:

  • Diploma in Education from a recognized Teacher Training Institution
  • Diploma graduates from 2008 or earlier with a mean grade of C (plain) and C (plain) in two teaching subjects qualify for consideration
  • P1 Certificate (added advantage)

Professional and Personal Requirements:

  • Active registration as a teacher with the Teachers Service Commission
  • At least 1 year's teaching experience (added advantage)
  • Certificate of Good Conduct from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI)
  • Kenyan citizen
  • Seventh-day Adventist in regular standing (recommendation from local church pastor required)

Curriculum and Professional Development:

  • Commitment to student-centered learning and the CBE curriculum
  • Training in CBE curriculum (added advantage)

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging Mathematics lessons in line with CBE requirements
  • Assess, evaluate, and record learners' academic progress
  • Provide remedial support and guidance to struggling learners
  • Maintain discipline and a conducive learning environment
  • Integrate Christian values in teaching and mentorship
  • Participate in co-curricular activities, school programs, and departmental meetings
  • Communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding learners' progress
  • Uphold the values and ethos of the Seventh-day Adventist Church
  • Perform other duties as assigned
