## Title: Chemistry Teacher

About the Position

The University of Eastern Africa, Baraton is seeking a qualified Chemistry Teacher to join our institution in Nairobi, Kenya. This role focuses on delivering engaging chemistry instruction aligned with the Competency-Based Education (CBE) curriculum while fostering student-centered learning.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum Diploma in Education with C+ at KCSE (or equivalent) with at least C+ (or Credit Pass) in two teaching subjects
  • Bachelor's degree in Education (preferred)
  • Active registration as a teacher with the Teachers Service Commission
  • Certificate of Good Conduct from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI)
  • Kenyan citizen
  • Member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in regular standing (recommendation from local church pastor required)

Additional Qualifications (Preferred)

  • P1 Certificate
  • Training in CBE curriculum
  • Minimum 1 year of teaching experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging Chemistry lessons aligned with CBE requirements
  • Assess, evaluate, and record learners' academic progress
  • Provide remedial support and guidance to struggling learners
  • Maintain discipline and create a conducive learning environment
  • Integrate Christian values in teaching and student mentorship
  • Participate in co-curricular activities, school programs, and departmental meetings
  • Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding learner progress
  • Uphold the values and ethos of the Seventh-day Adventist Church
  • Perform other duties as assigned
