## Title: Swimming Academy Lead Coach

About the Role

Woodcreek Elite Sports Academy (WESA) at Woodcreek School in Nairobi is seeking an experienced Swimming Academy Lead Coach to oversee and develop swimmers aged U9–U17. This is an opportunity to lead a performance-driven programme that integrates technical skill development, strength & conditioning, endurance training, and competition preparation, while supporting academic flexibility for student-athletes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a structured swimming curriculum with age-appropriate benchmarks
  • Lead weekly coaching sessions, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends, across term and holiday periods
  • Track swimmer progress using metrics, timed trials, video analysis, and termly performance reports
  • Prepare swimmers for regional, national, and international competitions
  • Promote a professional academy culture emphasising discipline, resilience, and teamwork
  • Coordinate with academic tutors to ensure student-athletes meet academic expectations
  • Collaborate with physiotherapists, nutritionists, psychologists, and sports scientists to provide holistic athlete support
  • Ensure safeguarding, health, and safety standards are fully implemented

Success Indicators (KPIs)

  • Measurable improvement in technical skill, endurance, and starts per term
  • Participation in ≥3 regional or national swimming competitions annually
  • High retention rates with target enrolment of 50 swimmers in Year 1
  • ≥90% of swimmers meet academic targets

Minimum Requirements

  • Recognised swimming coaching qualification (Kenya Swimming Federation / World Aquatics / ASA)
  • Lifesaving and first aid certification
  • Minimum 3 years' experience coaching in a structured swimming academy
  • Proven experience coaching school-age athletes for competitive pathways
  • Flexibility to conduct early morning, evening, and weekend sessions
