About the Role

AFIDEP is seeking a Senior Policy, Advocacy and Communications Officer to join a team of experts dedicated to improving domestic financing of health and accelerating the uptake of innovations in Africa's health systems. This position offers an exciting opportunity for a professional with expertise in health policy, health systems, and health financing to make a meaningful impact on health outcomes across the continent.

The successful candidate will be passionate about advancing health in Africa and ready to apply their skills to advocate for improved policies that enable increased domestic health investments, more efficient health spending, and accelerated integration of innovations into African health systems.

Location: Nairobi, Kenya

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct critical reviews of policies and political contexts to generate insights that inform policy influencing strategies and tactics for enhancing domestic financing of health and accelerating innovation uptake
• Sustain monitoring and analysis of policy and political contexts to continuously generate insights for informing advocacy actions
• Design and drive the implementation of impactful advocacy strategies that unlock policy actions addressing domestic financing challenges in Africa and accelerate the integration of proven innovations and tools into health systems at country levels
• Draft evidence-based policy advocacy materials including position papers, policy briefs, evidence briefs, factsheets, newsletters, talking points, and blogs
• Guide and oversee the design and production of multi-media policy advocacy materials including videos, animations, and infographics
• Lead stakeholder analysis to inform advocacy strategies and tactics
• Lead sustained stakeholder engagement and strategic relationship building with relevant partners
