Senior Medical Officer at Karatina University

About the Role

We seek a dedicated and experienced medical professional to lead and manage health services at our university. You will oversee clinical operations, ensure quality service delivery, and drive health services development initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage university health services operations and clinical activities
• Ensure smooth and efficient running of all clinical services
• Organize, plan, and control resources available at the university health services
• Participate in planning and development committees
• Manage and implement projects for health services development
• Lead staff development and capacity building initiatives
• Provide specialized medical services across various disciplines
• Manage medical stores, plant, and equipment used in relevant specializations
• Perform other duties as assigned by senior officers

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MB ChB) from a recognized institution
• Valid registration with the Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board
• At least five (5) years of post-internship work experience as a medical practitioner with proven performance
• Evidence of continuing professional development
• Current practicing certificate
• Compliance with Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya
