Senior Lecturer (Tourism & Hospitality) at Karatina University

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Lecturer in Tourism & Hospitality to join our dynamic academic team. This is a full-time position offering the opportunity to contribute to teaching, research, and academic leadership at a leading institution.

Key Responsibilities

• Teach and assess courses in tourism and hospitality at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels
• Supervise undergraduate projects and experiential learning programmes
• Supervise dissertations and theses at the graduate level
• Develop innovative undergraduate and postgraduate courses
• Initiate, promote, and participate in research projects
• Participate in academic leadership programmes
• Provide professional and community services, and initiate linkages and fundraising opportunities
• Carry out administrative and other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

• Earned Doctorate degree or academic equivalent in Tourism, Hospitality, or related discipline
• Minimum of four (4) years of teaching or research experience at university level since appointment as Lecturer
• Demonstrated experience supervising postgraduate degree students
• Evidence of attendance and contribution at academic conferences, seminars, or workshops
• Minimum of 4 publications in refereed journals since appointment as Lecturer
• Fulfillment of the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya
