Senior Finance Officer – Financials

About the Role

Kimisitu Sacco seeks a dedicated Senior Finance Officer – Financials to manage day-to-day accounts and ensure compliance with accounting standards and practices. You will prepare monthly management accounts and maintain timely, accurate bank reconciliations.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate monthly management reports including trial balance, statement of comprehensive income, and financial statements
• Investigate variances, correct errors, and provide explanations for budget differences
• Implement daily budgetary controls by monitoring purchases and ensuring correct ledger postings
• Manage liquidity and plan investments
• Assist in costing and pricing of the Society's investment ventures
• Review daily payments for accuracy
• Review bank and ledger reconciliations for completeness and accuracy
• Provide team leadership to finance officers through professional staff management
• Facilitate internal and external audits and implement recommendations in a timely manner
• Prepare and analyze investment portfolios for effective treasury management
• Monitor changes in financial regulations and legislation
• Ensure proper recording and safeguarding of the Society's assets and liabilities
• Maintain accurate debtors and creditors records
• Ensure daily account reconciliation and adherence to specific deadlines
• Perform additional responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent qualification
• CPA (K) or ACCA certification
• Registered member of ICPAK in good standing
• Minimum 5 years of proven relevant experience
• Demonstrated experience in budgeting and financial analysis
• Strong knowledge of taxation principles
