Senior Finance and Accounts Officer - Grade 8

About the Role

Duties and Responsibilities

• Implement accounting policies, strategies, regulations, guidelines, and procedures
• Prepare financial statements and accounts
• Verify payment vouchers and bank reconciliation statements
• Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures
• Collaborate with internal and external auditors to ensure compliance with statutory audit requirements
• Participate in financial standards setting and forecast processes
• Prepare and submit daily bank balances for monitoring
• Issue cheque books to cashier and ensure proper cheque documentation with consistent book serial number tracking
• Update vote heads for various departments
• Maintain asset register
• Develop departmental work plans
• Participate in quality management and performance contracting processes

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or equivalent qualification from a recognized and accredited institution
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent qualification from an accredited examination body
• Current registration with the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK)
• Minimum six (6) years of relevant work experience, with at least three (3) years at the grade of Finance and Accounts Officer I or in a comparable position
