## Title: Senior Environmentalist

About the Role

A reputable organization seeks a dedicated individual to join as Senior Environmentalist. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring that road development projects meet environmental regulations and sustainability standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake environmental monitoring and evaluation of project activities against environmental regulations and standards
  • Assist in implementation of environmental and social strategies and action plans that ensure sustainable roads development
  • Coordinate Environmental and Social Impact Assessment Studies for new projects
  • Monitor closely the performance of environmental activities and document all changes (both qualitatively and quantitatively) in line with the Authority's M&E framework and guidelines
  • Coordinate the planning, collection, collation and analysis of environmental research data and disclosure of findings
  • Develop and deliver regular spot checks to ensure that proposed mitigation measures are properly implemented in line with guidelines
  • Provide support to project development initiatives and ensure environmental and social development issues are addressed
  • Undertake all activities involved in environmental sustainability as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Studies, Environmental Science, Environmental Planning & Management, Environmental Health, Environmental & Biosystems Engineering, Environmental Conservation & Natural Resources Management, or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution
  • Cumulative service period of six (6) years relevant work experience, with three (3) years at the grade of Environmentalist I or in a comparable position
  • Registration with NEMA as a Lead Expert
  • Valid Annual Practicing License from NEMA
