## Title: Senior Credit Administration Officer

Job Purpose

The Senior Credit Administration Officer provides hands-on support in the pre and post-approval credit process by preparing and verifying credit documents, perfecting securities, and ensuring all facility conditions are fulfilled before and after disbursement. The role liaises with Legal, Credit, and Business Teams to maintain accurate loan booking and continuous security coverage in line with CBK Prudential Guidelines, the Banking Act, IFRS 9 requirements, and internal policies. The officer also compiles data for CBK returns, supports IFRS 9 ECL provisioning through accurate portfolio information, and prepares routine management reports that strengthen credit monitoring and operational compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create credit files according to approved standard operating procedures
  • Conduct preliminary analysis of customer applications and prepare appropriate recommendations
  • Prepare credit proposals, renewals, extensions, and cancellations of facilities within bank policies and statutory and regulatory requirements
  • Monitor established credit facilities to ensure timely collection of loan maturities and recommend remedial action for deteriorating performance
  • Prepare facility letters of offer and follow up execution by the bank and clients
  • Prepare instructions to register securities and ensure safe custody of executed offer letters and security documents
  • Prepare notices to existing clients according to prevailing terms and conditions of letters of offer
  • Undertake planned visits to project sites or business premises and prepare call reports
  • Ensure maximum utilization of trade finance facilities and originate new trade finance deals and repeat business from clients
  • Follow up on repayments and overall compliance through visits, correspondences, reminders, and debt collection
  • Handle customer inquiries and provide support
