Senior Accountant at Embu Water And Sanitation Company

About the Role

Reporting to the Head of Finance and Commercial Services, the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring professional management of the company's resources, preparation and availability of all financial reports, and revenue budgets.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise work activities of the Financial Accountant
• Coordinate preparation of bank reconciliations
• Coordinate maintenance of supplier accounts, including posting invoices and reconciling accounts
• Coordinate maintenance of the vote book and ensure compliance with budget allocations
• Monitor the company's bank balances and advise the Finance Manager accordingly
• Prepare monthly section reports for management use
• Review and recommend customer adjustments to billing
• Verify postings by staff in the Pastel system
• Undertake continuous professional development to keep abreast of industry trends
• Prepare and submit timely reports and information for decision-making
• Undertake any other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related Business discipline
• Intermediate professional qualification in either CPA (K) or ACCA
• At least 7 years of relevant working experience, with 3 years in a managerial position

Terms of Employment

The appointment will be for a contract term of 3 years, renewable subject to satisfactory performance.
