## Title: Risk & Compliance Officer

Position Overview

Eldoret Water and Sanitation Company Limited (ELDOWAS) is seeking a motivated Risk & Compliance Officer to join the Finance & Strategy Department. This permanent and pensionable position (Job Grade 7) offers an exciting opportunity to drive enterprise risk management and compliance across the organization.

Purpose of the Role

To conduct comprehensive risk assessments, analyze areas of potential risk, and provide appropriate recommendations and reports to support organizational resilience and compliance.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Risk Identification & Analysis

  • Identify, analyze, and document risks while ensuring action plans and mitigations are in place and implemented
  • Conduct risk assessments across investment and business support processes
  • Analyze transactions, internal reports, and financial information for potential risks
  • Undertake risk ratings reviews and scenario planning
  • Conduct quarterly risk reviews of company investments
  • Report on company-wide potential risk areas and weaknesses

Risk Management Framework & Monitoring

  • Assist in updating the Enterprise Risk Management framework and related policies, guidelines, and procedures
  • Maintain an updated company-wide inventory of risk registers
  • Establish and monitor key risk indicators
  • Continuously research the internal and external risk environment to ensure proactive risk management programs are in place
  • Conduct investigations on the enterprise risk profile to certify alignment with company risk standards and criteria

Reporting & Communications

  • Prepare regular quarterly reports on risk status, including newly identified risks
  • Advise on policies, procedures, and control self-assessment tools in response to identified risks

Training & Awareness

  • Create and implement risk awareness programs throughout ELDOWAS
  • Provide training and technical support to management and employees regarding risk management strategies and programs
  • Enforce, implement, and train staff on risk policies and procedures
