Reception Class Teacher (Maternity Cover) at Banda School

About the Role

Banda School seeks a dedicated Reception Class Teacher to provide maternity cover. You will take responsibility for planning and implementing appropriate work programmes for all children in your designated class, within the framework of national and school policies.

Main Responsibilities

• Plan and implement work programmes aligned with national curriculum policies and in cooperation with the Head of Early Years
• Ensure children experience a broad, balanced, relevant and stimulating curriculum appropriate to their age
• Tailor learning experiences to match the individual needs of each child, enabling all to achieve their potential
• Make appropriate educational provision for children with learning difficulties and those with EAL, supported by The Banda's Learning Development Centre
• Link children's learning to first-hand practical experience in line with EYFS/DfE guidance
• Provide opportunities for children to manage their own learning and develop as independent thinkers
• Create a secure, happy and stimulating classroom environment with the highest standards of organisation and discipline
• Maintain high standards of classroom display and other school areas
• Organise resources, equipment and materials to be properly cared for, easily accessible and to encourage children's responsibility for their own learning
• Manage your Class Assistant within the classroom
• Maintain assessment records and report on pupils' progress to staff, parents and carers in accordance with school policy
• Work closely with colleagues, provide short and medium-term plans and fully implement agreed schemes of work
