## Title: Purchasing Officer/Clerk

About Us

Gilani's Supermarket Ltd (Gilanis) is a dynamic and growing supermarket and wholesale business located in Nakuru CBD. We are seeking an experienced professional to join our purchasing team and execute procurement strategies across our supermarket, wholesale, and restaurant operations.

Role Overview

In this position, you will handle purchasing roles as part of our team, ensuring the timely availability of goods is governed by stock levels, sales performance, and cash flow management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in procurement planning and support the implementation of purchasing strategies in alignment with budget objectives
  • Manage supplier relationships through negotiations in accordance with company procurement procedures, while building and maintaining long-term partnerships
  • Collaborate with finance, operations, and logistics teams to align purchasing decisions with overall business needs
  • Align purchase decisions with sales trends, stock velocity, and company cash flow to ensure cost savings
  • Evaluate and select suppliers based on performance, reliability, and compliance standards
  • Conduct stock analysis to ensure appropriate product availability and stock holding levels
  • Maintain supplier communications and prepare reports as required

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Purchasing & Supplies or Management
  • At least 4 years of relevant work experience in procurement or purchasing
  • Thorough knowledge of procurement principles and best practices
  • Proficiency with ERP accounting systems
  • Strong communication skills
  • Professional ethics and integrity
