Programme Manager-Livelihoods at Concern Worldwide

About the Role

Concern Worldwide is recruiting a Programme Manager - Livelihoods to provide technical leadership in the implementation of livelihoods programming in Machakos County, Kenya. This role ensures projects are executed in line with relevant strategies and donor guidelines.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Programme Management

• Provide technical leadership in implementation of livelihoods programming in Machakos County, ensuring projects are executed in line with relevant strategies and donor guidelines
• Hold project inception and planning meetings with County teams to facilitate effective implementation
• Provide technical mentorship to livelihoods officers and County government officers, including identification of capacity gaps and support in addressing them
• Develop, continuously review, and adapt implementation strategies for various livelihoods approaches including Climate Smart Agriculture, Village Savings and Loans Associations, value chain development, and business development
• Develop County-specific annual and quarterly implementation plans and budgets
• Work closely with other Concern program teams and implementing partners to foster layering, sequencing, and integration of various interventions toward desired outcomes
• Lead documentation of livelihoods programming through development of progress reports, donor reports, success stories, and program briefs
• Represent Concern in relevant County technical and coordination forums
• Identify, communicate, and support the addressing of program-related risks
• Ensure livelihood program adaptation to prevailing contextual changes to maintain relevance to local needs
• Plan, design, and undertake training for program participants and partner staff based on identified needs
• Actively promote inter-sectoral linkages including Gender, Equality, Conflict and Peace, Protection, HIV and AIDS, Disaster Risk Reduction, Environment, Climate Change Adaptation, and Partnerships where relevant

Budget Management

Monitor and manage project budgets in accordance with organizational and donor requirements.
