Position Overview
This position offers a significant opportunity for career growth and academic leadership. We seek experienced professors to provide strategic direction in nuclear engineering, specifically in nuclear system design and safety. The role encompasses leading teaching and learning programs, developing research strategies, mobilizing resources, mentoring staff and students, and fostering industry collaborations at Kenya-AIST.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish and lead research partnerships, collaborations, and linkages in nuclear system design and safety at national, regional, and international levels
- Initiate and lead external bids for research funding and consultancies within the area of specialization
- Exercise intellectual and educational leadership, providing sapiential authority in the field
- Promote innovative approaches to course design and delivery while ensuring compliance with the Institute's quality framework, educational standards, and regulations
- Identify student learning needs and design appropriate learning outcomes
- Assess student learning activities, conduct examinations, and provide constructive feedback
- Provide academic leadership by fostering a vibrant and productive academic environment
- Develop laboratory manuals aligned with approved curricula in nuclear engineering
- Supervise students' theses, dissertations, internships, and attachments as applicable
- Mentor teaching and research staff and students in the area of specialization
- Champion dissemination of research outputs and outcomes in nuclear engineering research areas
- Collaborate with stakeholders and industry in technology transfer and commercialization of innovation
