Professor/Associate Professor - Nuclear Engineering - Nuclear System Design and Safety at Kenya Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (Kenya-AIST)

The role encompasses leading teaching and learning programs, developing research strategies, mobilizing resources, mentoring staff and students, and fostering industry collaborations at Kenya-AIST.

Key Responsibilities

• Establish and lead research partnerships, collaborations, and linkages in nuclear system design and safety at national, regional, and international levels
• Initiate and lead external bids for research funding and consultancies within the area of specialization
• Exercise intellectual and educational leadership, providing sapiential authority in the field
• Promote innovative approaches to course design and delivery while ensuring compliance with the Institute's quality framework, educational standards, and regulations
• Identify student learning needs and design appropriate learning outcomes
• Assess student learning activities, conduct examinations, and provide constructive feedback
• Provide academic leadership by fostering a vibrant and productive academic environment
• Develop laboratory manuals aligned with approved curricula in nuclear engineering
• Supervise students' theses, dissertations, internships, and attachments as applicable
• Mentor teaching and research staff and students in the area of specialization
• Champion dissemination of research outputs and outcomes in nuclear engineering research areas
• Collaborate with stakeholders and industry in technology transfer and commercialization of innovation
