Professor/Associate Professor - Nuclear Engineering - Nuclear System Design and Safety at Kenya Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (Kenya-AIST)

You will develop and execute the Institute's research strategies within your area of specialization, mobilize resources, mentor academic staff and students, and establish valuable academic-industry collaborations.

Key Responsibilities

• Establish and lead research partnerships, collaborations, and linkages in nuclear system design and safety at national, regional, and international levels
• Initiate and lead external bids for research funding and consultancies within your area of specialization
• Exercise intellectual and educational leadership, demonstrating expertise and vision in your field
• Promote innovative approaches to course design and delivery while ensuring compliance with the Institute's quality framework, educational standards, and regulations
• Identify student learning needs and design appropriate learning outcomes
• Assess student learning activities, conduct examinations, and provide constructive feedback
• Provide academic leadership by fostering a vibrant and productive academic environment
• Develop laboratory manuals aligned with approved curricula in nuclear engineering
• Supervise students' theses, dissertations, internships, and attachments as applicable
• Mentor teaching, research staff, and students in your area of specialization
• Champion the dissemination of research outputs and outcomes
• Collaborate with stakeholders and industry partners in technology transfer and commercialization of innovation
