Position Overview
We are recruiting an experienced Professor or Associate Professor in Nuclear Engineering, specializing in Nuclear Materials and Fuel Cycle. This senior academic position involves providing leadership in the design, development, and implementation of teaching and learning programmes at the Institute. The successful candidate will develop and implement research strategies within their area of specialization, mobilize resources, mentor academic staff and students, establish academic-industry collaborations, champion the dissemination of research outputs, and collaborate with stakeholders on technology transfer and innovation commercialization.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish and lead research partnerships, collaborations, and linkages in nuclear materials and fuel cycle specialization at national, regional, and international levels
- Initiate and lead external bids for research funding and consultancies within the area of specialization
- Exercise intellectual and educational leadership, providing sapiential authority in the field
- Promote innovative approaches to course design and delivery while ensuring compliance with the Institute's quality framework, educational standards, and regulations
- Identify student learning needs and design appropriate learning outcomes
- Assess student learning activities, conduct examinations, and provide constructive feedback
- Provide academic leadership by fostering a vibrant and productive academic environment
- Develop laboratory manuals aligned with approved curricula in the specialization area
- Supervise students' theses, dissertations, internships, and attachments as applicable
- Mentor teaching and research staff and students in the area of specialization
- Champion the dissemination of research outputs and outcomes in areas of research interest
- Collaborate with stakeholders and industry partners in technology transfer and commercialization of innovation
