Professor/Associate Professor - Mechanical Engineering - Energy at Kenya Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (Kenya-AIST)

The role requires professors to provide strategic leadership in designing, developing, and implementing teaching and learning programmes at Kenya Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (Kenya-AIST). You will develop and implement the Institute's research strategies within your area of specialization, mobilize resources, mentor academic staff and students, and establish academic-industry collaborations.

Key Responsibilities

• Establish and lead research partnerships, collaborations, and linkages in your area of specialization at national, regional, and international levels
• Initiate and lead external bids for research funding and consultancies within your area of specialization
• Exercise intellectual and educational leadership within the academic community
• Promote innovative approaches to course design and delivery while ensuring compliance with the Institute's quality framework, educational standards, and regulations
• Identify learning needs of students and design appropriate learning outcomes
• Assess students' learning activities, conduct examinations, and provide constructive feedback
• Develop laboratory manuals aligned with approved curricula in your thematic area
• Supervise students' theses, dissertations, internships, and attachments as applicable
• Mentor teaching and research staff and students in your area of specialization
• Champion the dissemination of research outputs and outcomes in areas of research interest
• Collaborate with stakeholders and industry in technology transfer and commercialization of innovation
