## Title: Professor/Associate Professor - Civil Engineering - Water Resources

Position Overview

Kenya Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (Kenya-AIST) is seeking a Professor or Associate Professor in Civil Engineering with expertise in Water Resources. This is a leadership position responsible for advancing teaching, research, and innovation in the Institute while establishing strategic partnerships with industry and international stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish and lead research partnerships, collaborations, and linkages in water resources engineering at national, regional, and international levels
  • Initiate and lead external bids for research funding and consultancy projects in the area of specialization
  • Exercise intellectual and educational leadership in the academic community
  • Develop and promote innovative approaches to course design and delivery, ensuring compliance with the Institute's quality framework and educational standards
  • Identify students' learning needs and design appropriate learning outcomes
  • Assess student learning activities, conduct examinations, and provide constructive feedback
  • Provide academic leadership and foster a vibrant, productive academic environment
  • Develop laboratory manuals aligned with approved curricula in water resources engineering
  • Supervise students' thesis, dissertations, internships, and attachments where applicable
  • Mentor teaching and research staff and students in the area of specialization
  • Champion the dissemination of research outputs and outcomes to relevant audiences
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and industry partners on technology transfer and commercialization of innovations
