Position Overview

We are seeking experienced Professors/Associate Professors in Civil Engineering with specialization in Transportation to join our growing academic team at a leading science and technology institute in Nairobi, Kenya. These positions offer the opportunity to provide strategic leadership in teaching, research, and innovation while shaping the next generation of engineering professionals.

Key Responsibilities

• Establish and lead research partnerships, collaborations, and linkages in Civil Engineering - Transportation nationally, regionally, and internationally
• Initiate and lead external bids for research funding and consultancies within the area of specialization
• Exercise intellectual and educational leadership through sapiential authority
• Promote innovative approaches to course design and delivery while ensuring compliance with quality frameworks and educational standards
• Identify student learning needs and design appropriate learning outcomes
• Assess student learning activities, conduct examinations, and provide constructive feedback
• Provide academic leadership by fostering a vibrant and productive academic environment
• Develop laboratory manuals aligned with approved curricula in transportation engineering
• Supervise student theses, dissertations, internships, and attachments as applicable
• Mentor teaching, research, and student staff in the area of specialization
• Champion the dissemination of research outputs and outcomes to relevant audiences
• Collaborate with stakeholders and industry partners in technology transfer and commercialization of innovations
• Mobilize resources to support research and teaching initiatives

Required Expertise

Candidates should demonstrate strong capability in designing, developing, and implementing teaching and learning programs, as well as developing and implementing research strategies within Civil Engineering - Transportation specialization.
