Professor/Associate Professor - Agricultural Biotechnology - Crop Breeding at Kenya Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (Kenya-AIST)

Position Overview

We are seeking experienced professors to provide leadership in research, teaching, and innovation within Agricultural Biotechnology, specifically in Crop Breeding. The successful candidate will drive the design, development, and implementation of teaching and learning programmes while developing and executing research strategies within their area of specialization.

Key Responsibilities

• Establish and lead research partnerships, collaborations, and linkages nationally, regionally, and internationally within your area of specialization
• Initiate and lead external bids for research funding and consultancies
• Exercise intellectual and educational leadership, providing sapiential authority within the field
• Promote innovative approaches to course design and delivery in compliance with the Institute's quality framework, educational standards, and regulations
• Identify student learning needs and design appropriate learning outcomes
• Assess student learning activities, conduct examinations, and provide constructive feedback
• Provide academic leadership to foster a vibrant and productive academic environment
• Develop laboratory manuals aligned with approved curricula in your thematic area
• Supervise student thesis, dissertations, internships, and attachments as applicable
• Mentor teaching and research staff and students in your area of specialization
• Champion dissemination of research outputs and outcomes
• Collaborate with stakeholders and industry partners in technology transfer and commercialization of innovation
• Mobilize resources to support research and academic activities
