## Title: Principal Programme Officer - Syndemic Diseases Control

About the Role

We are seeking a qualified Principal Programme Officer to join The National Syndemic Diseases Control Council (NSDCC) in Nairobi, Kenya. You will coordinate the provision of policy and strategic guidance, technical support, and capacity building for health promotion, prevention, control, and management of Syndemic diseases. You will also spearhead the strengthening of primary health care systems and lead the development, implementation, monitoring, evaluation, and review of programmes, policies, strategies, and guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical guidance to support the development and implementation of policies, guidelines, and legal frameworks for procurement and quality assurance of strategic commodities at all government levels
  • Support coordination of pharmaceutical and laboratory monitoring of health commodities for syndemic diseases
  • Analyze costing and expenditure of commodities for syndemic diseases and advise on sustainability and cost-effectiveness
  • Provide technical support and guidance at all levels of government to strengthen supply chain security
  • Support collaboration with relevant stakeholders to facilitate development and use of an integrated logistical management information system for strategic commodities across the country
  • Support mobilization and coordination of relevant stakeholders involved in strategic commodities for syndemic diseases control programmes
  • Support design and development of appropriate mechanisms and tools for monitoring and evaluation of strategic commodities

Required Qualifications

Academic Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in one of the following fields from a recognized institution: Public Health, Health Economics, Epidemiology, Medicine, Social Sciences, Business Administration, Public Administration, or related disciplines
  • Master's degree in a related field (preferred)

Competencies and Skills

The successful candidate will demonstrate knowledge, experience, and attributes in programme management, policy development, supply chain systems, and health commodity governance.
