## Title: Principal Human Resource Management and Development Officer

Position Overview

The National Research Fund invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for the position of Principal Human Resource Management and Development Officer, based in Nairobi, Kenya.

Employment Terms

  • Contract Type: Permanent and Pensionable
  • Basic Salary: 96,813 X 3,873 – 100,686 X 4,027 – 104,713 X 4,712 – 109,425 X 4,924 – 114,349 X 5,146 – 119,495 X 5,377 – 124,872 X 5,427 – 130,299
  • House Allowance: 35,000
  • Commuter Allowance: 8,000

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resource, Sociology, Public Administration, Business Administration, or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution
  • Certified Human Resource Professional (CHRP (K)) or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution
  • Registration with the Institute of Human Resource Management
  • Management Course of at least four (4) weeks duration from a recognized institution
  • Proficiency in computer application skills
  • Cumulative service period of nine (9) years' relevant work experience, with a minimum of three (3) years at the grade of Senior Human Resource Management and Development Officer or comparable position
  • Demonstrated merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results

Key Responsibilities

  • Interpret, implement, and review human resource and development policies, standards, regulations, procedures, strategies, and programmes/work plans
  • Design training and development programmes based on organizational and individual needs
  • Coordinate the development of human resource information systems
  • Develop, implement, and review knowledge management frameworks
  • Develop, implement, and review compensation and benefits schemes
  • Coordinate staff recruitment, selection, and placement processes
  • Undertake human resource planning and succession management
  • Manage payroll operations
  • Coordinate the preparation of agendas and minutes for management human resource advisory committee meetings
