## Title: Principal Auditor
About the Role
The Warehouse Receipt System Council (WRSC) is expanding its dynamic team and seeking an experienced Principal Auditor to join our organization in Nairobi, Kenya.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Audit Planning and Execution
- Undertake audit assignments and prepare detailed audit observations and reports
- Carry out institutional risk evaluation and efficiency audits
- Conduct financial and systems audits
- Lead audit teams in implementing audit work plans
- Implement audit fieldwork strategy
- Examine vouchers, cashbooks, and ledgers to confirm the propriety and accuracy of transactions
- Verify utilization of Council resources
- Audit systems and processes
- Evaluate and document audit evidence
Risk & Compliance Management
- Carry out risk assessment and management activities in accordance with established guidelines
- Conduct risk assessment, corruption risk assessment, and anti-corruption awareness activities
- Undertake audit investigations
- Carry out audit follow-ups on implementation of recommendations and prepare audit reports
Support & Documentation
- Provide support in the development and updating of internal audit manuals
- Carry out audit inspections of Council records
- Collect and verify data on periodical financial returns, estimates, and expenditure
- Prepare audit operational plans
Mandatory Requirements
- A minimum of nine (9) years of cumulative professional experience, with at least three (3) years at the grade of Senior Auditor or equivalent position in a comparable organization
- Bachelor's degree in one of the following disciplines: Commerce (Accounting/Finance option), Economics, Business Administration (Accounting/Finance option), or equivalent degree from a recognized institution
- Certified Public Accountants Kenya (CPA), Kenya Final Certificate, Association of Certified Chartered Accountants (ACCA) Part III, or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution
- Registration as a member in good standing with any recognized professional accounting body
