## Title: Lecturer - Public Health

Position Overview

This is an entry-level academic position for PhD degree holders. The Lecturer will work under the direct supervision of a senior officer, delivering teaching and research in Public Health.

Educational Qualifications

  • An earned PhD or equivalent Doctoral degree in Population Health, Public Health, Public Reproductive Health, Epidemiology & Disease Control, Monitoring & Evaluation, Community Health, Occupational Health & Safety, or equivalent from an accredited and recognized university
  • Master's degree in Population Health, Public Health, Public Reproductive Health, Epidemiology & Disease Control, Monitoring & Evaluation, Community Health, Occupational Health & Safety, or equivalent from an accredited and recognized university
  • Bachelor's degree in Population Health from an accredited and recognized university

Professional Experience & Qualifications

  • At least three (3) years of teaching experience at university level, or in research/industry
  • Minimum of 24 publication points, with at least 16 points from refereed journal papers
  • Evidence of attendance and contribution at conferences, seminars, workshops, or symposia
  • Current registration with relevant professional statutory bodies and membership in a professional association (advantageous)
  • Proficiency in computer applications

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver lectures in area of specialization in accordance with approved syllabus
  • Coordinate course projects and practical work
  • Prepare teaching and learning materials
  • Set, invigilate, and mark examinations and assignments
  • Conduct research work in relevant field or specialization
  • Prepare student progress reports
  • Develop proposals for research funding
  • Write journal articles and books
  • Present academic papers at conferences, seminars, workshops, and symposia
  • Develop and review academic programmes and curricula
  • Supervise Tutorial/Junior Research Fellows and students
