## Title: Lecturer in Occupational Health & Safety

Position Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated professional to join Mama Ngina University College as a Lecturer in Occupational Health & Safety. This is an entry-level position for PhD degree holders within this cadre. The successful candidate will work under the direct supervision of a senior officer.

Required Qualifications

  • An earned PhD or equivalent Doctoral degree in Population Health, Public Health, Public Reproductive Health, Epidemiology & Disease Control, Monitoring & Evaluation, Community Health, Occupational Health & Safety, or equivalent from an accredited and recognized University
  • Master's degree in Population Health, Public Health, Public Reproductive Health, Epidemiology & Disease Control, Monitoring & Evaluation, Community Health, Occupational Health & Safety, or equivalent from an accredited and recognized University
  • Bachelor's degree in Population Health from an accredited and recognized University
  • At least three (3) years of teaching experience at University level or in research/industry
  • A minimum of 24 publication points, of which at least 16 should be from refereed journal papers
  • Evidence of attendance and contribution at conferences, seminars, or workshops
  • Proficiency in computer applications

Preferred Qualifications

  • Current registration by relevant professional statutory bodies
  • Membership in a professional association

Key Responsibilities

  • Lecturing in the area of specialization in accordance with the syllabus
  • Coordinating course projects and practical work
  • Preparing teaching and learning materials
  • Setting, invigilating, and marking examinations and assignments
  • Carrying out research work in a relevant field or specialization
  • Preparing student progress reports
  • Developing proposals for research funding
  • Writing journal articles and books
  • Presenting academic papers at conferences, seminars, workshops, and symposia
  • Developing and reviewing academic programmes and curricula
  • Supervising Tutorial and Junior Research Fellows and students
