## Title: Post Basic Clinical Instructor

About the Role

This position offers an excellent opportunity for career growth in clinical nursing education. As a Post Basic Clinical Instructor at Mater Misericordiae Hospital, you will play a key role in developing the next generation of nursing professionals through comprehensive clinical education and mentorship.

Main Responsibilities

  • Coordinate clinical presentations to assist learners in developing critical thinking skills
  • Prepare and implement orientation programs for new learners to ensure smooth transition into the clinical setting
  • Monitor learners during clinical placements both within and outside the hospital
  • Plan and conduct theoretical assessments of learners
  • Regularly assess practical books to evaluate learners' proficiency in conducting clinical procedures
  • Produce and distribute course learning objectives and learner schedules to clinical placement sites
  • Design master rotations, assessment schedules, and other teaching and learning tools
  • Communicate with the academic team and clinical nursing department to address concerns and support learner development
  • Collaborate with colleagues to revise and evaluate course content
  • Discuss concerns and learning-related challenges with learners to support their development
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives within the department and hospital, providing reports as required
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • KRN/M, KRCHN, or BScN
  • Higher National Diploma in Critical Care or Nephrology Nursing (mandatory)
  • Minimum 2 years of active teaching experience in both classroom and clinical settings
  • Valid Nursing Council of Kenya practice license
  • Valid BLS/ACLS certificate
