## Title: People and Culture Director
About the Role
Greenpeace is expanding its People and Culture team and seeking a dynamic leader to drive strategic human resources initiatives across the organization.
Main Responsibilities
Strategy, Policy Development, Review and Implementation
- Provide strategic direction to Greenpeace Africa (GPAF) by restructuring and aligning the People and Culture Unit to meet organizational strategic objectives
- Draft policies and procedures across the HR value chain
- Provide strategic direction, input and advice to all management levels, including the Board, on Employee and Labour Relations matters, including risk identification and mitigation strategies
- Provide detailed legal opinion to all management levels on HR-related legal matters and processes
- Develop strategic goals that ensure conditions of service are attractive, competitive and fair
- Establish efficient, effective, consistent and fair dispute resolution and disciplinary processes
- Develop, operate and maintain effective systems and procedures for people and culture services, including adequate internal control measures to safeguard the organization from financial, legal and reputational liability
- Conduct regular reviews and updates of policies and procedures
- Lead communication and implementation of agreed policies, practices and systems
- Propose and oversee compensation and benefits programs that are competitive, equitable and aligned with organizational financial objectives and employee satisfaction goals
Leadership, Coordination and Capability
- Provide leadership and strategic direction to the People and Culture function
- Ensure clear focus and coordination of all activities within the department
- Deploy resources effectively across the function
- Establish and communicate clear performance standards and objectives
