## Title: Part-time Lecturer – School of Natural Resources and Environmental Studies
About the Role
A dynamic team is expanding and seeking talented educators to join the School of Natural Resources and Environmental Studies. In this part-time lecturer position, you will teach in a specialized and established programme of study, imparting knowledge and skills to students through a range of delivery techniques designed to inspire engagement and facilitate effective learning.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach specialized courses using diverse delivery techniques to inspire and engage students for effective learning
- Interpret and synthesize curriculum content for clear dissemination to learners
- Prepare course outlines to guide effective delivery and ensure comprehensive syllabus coverage
- Develop learning content aligned with course objectives and outcomes
- Set, moderate, invigilate, and administer examinations to assess student understanding and provide progressive reports to the department
- Supervise undergraduate projects, dissertations, and theses at the graduate level
- Oversee other experiential learning programmes and student attachments
- Initiate, promote, and participate in research activities to generate new knowledge
- Assess and invigilate students during attachments, field trips, and internships to equip them with technical knowledge for future careers
- Monitor class attendance records to ensure students meet the required attendance threshold (more than two-thirds of lectures) before examination eligibility
- Present examination results to the Departmental Board of Examiners
Requirements for Appointment
- Earned PhD or equivalent degree qualification in a relevant field from a recognized academic institution
- Demonstrated potential for university teaching and/or research
- Current registration with the relevant professional body as required by your field of specialization
- Fulfillment of the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya
- Masters degree holders registered for PhD studies may be considered
