## Title: Operations and Non-Revenue Water Manager
Position Overview
This position offers a great opportunity for career growth. Reporting to the Head of Technical Services, the successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating all water distribution activities including plant operations, non-revenue water management, quality assurance, and maintenance of minimal levels of water wastage.
Managerial Responsibilities
- Provide direction and coordinate the management of water distribution, sewerage, quality assurance, and non-revenue water functions
- Provide sound leadership and supervision to departmental staff
- Ensure the adequacy and allocation of working tools and resources for all functions
- Prepare comprehensive annual budgets and participate in budget planning
- Ensure compliance with approved budgets through prudent and timely spending
- Undertake performance management for the section
- Ensure timely reporting of sectional performance
- Establish and maintain sound systems, policies, and procedures for effective departmental functioning
Operational Responsibilities
- Prepare designs and bills of quantities for various projects
- Develop plans for reduction of water wastage
- Ensure set targets regarding water distribution, non-revenue water, and plant deliverables are met
- Develop and submit proposals on water distribution-related projects
- Develop and maintain networks with key stakeholders to facilitate effective technical operations, including relevant government and private institutions
- Anticipate operational challenges by studying operating targets, modes of operation, section limitations, and monitoring unit performance, then implement measures to mitigate identified problems
- Improve operational quality results by studying, evaluating, and recommending process redesign and appropriate changes to designs, works, workflows, and team modifications
- Determine operational priorities
