Medical Officer - Coast Regions

Position Overview

The position holder is responsible for providing high-quality clinical care through patient assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up while ensuring compliance with medical standards, ethical practice, and hospital policies.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality medical care to patients in outpatient settings
• Conduct patient assessments, diagnose conditions, and prescribe appropriate treatment plans
• Participate in health promotion, preventive care, and community outreach programs
• Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with health regulations
• Handle emergency cases and provide appropriate interventions

Minimum Qualifications

• MBChB or equivalent medical degree from a recognized institution
• Valid Kenyan medical license and registration with the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council (KMPDC)
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team

Required Experience and Competencies

• Minimum of 2 years post-internship clinical experience
• Excellent diagnostic and clinical management skills
• Technical skills and leadership competencies
• Knowledge of Kenyan health policies and patient care protocols
• Commitment to patient confidentiality and professional ethics
