Maintenance- Plumbing Internship at Tamarind Group

About the Role

We are seeking a dynamic, results-driven Plumbing Intern to assist in installation, repair, and maintenance functions. You will work alongside experienced plumbers while maintaining the highest professional standards in accordance with company policies and procedures to ensure maximum customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

Installation and Repair Support

• Assist experienced plumbers with installation, maintenance, and repair of plumbing components and systems
• Work with pipes, tubes, and fittings (cutting, measuring, threading, assembling)
• Support installation and repair of toilets, sinks, showers, tubs, water heaters, boilers, and drainage systems

Diagnostics and Troubleshooting

• Assist in locating and diagnosing leaks, clogs, and other malfunctions in water supply and drainage systems

Tools and Equipment

• Learn proper use, care, and maintenance of hand tools, power tools, and specialized plumbing equipment (pipe wrenches, cutters, welding/soldering equipment)

Site Management

• Set up job sites and prepare work areas
• Carry and organize tools and materials
• Ensure thorough cleanup after job completion

Documentation and Record-Keeping

• Assist with utilities records and documentation for future reference
• Support opening and closing duties for day planning and scheduling
• Participate in recording repairs and upgrades

Standards and Safety

• Ensure adherence to all standard operating procedures and company standards
• Follow all company and industry safety protocols and plumbing codes (federal, state, and local)
• Strictly follow instructions from supervising licensed plumbers

Additional Duties

• Learn to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications
• Minimize downtime and contribute to improved customer experience
• Participate in various engineering activities including repairs and upgrades
