About the Position

Kibabii University College is seeking a qualified Lecturer in Mechanical Engineering to join its academic team. This is a full-time position based in Nairobi, Kenya.

Requirements for Appointment

Candidates must meet the following criteria:

• PhD or equivalent degree qualification in a relevant area from a recognized/accredited university (or a Master's degree qualification in special cases)
• A minimum of 24 publication points, of which at least 16 should be from refereed journal papers
• Registration or eligibility for registration with the relevant professional body (where applicable)
• Demonstrated merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results

Duties and Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Lecturing in area of specialization in accordance with the syllabus
• Coordinating course projects and practical work
• Preparing teaching and learning materials
• Setting, invigilating, and marking examinations and assignments
• Carrying out research work in relevant field or specialization
• Preparing student progress reports
• Developing proposals for research funding
• Writing journal articles and books
• Presenting academic papers at conferences, seminars, workshops, and symposia
• Developing and reviewing academic programmes and curricula
