Requirements for Appointment

To be eligible for appointment, candidates must meet the following criteria:

• Earned PhD degree or equivalent in a relevant field from an accredited and recognized university
• Master's and Bachelor's degrees in the relevant field from a recognized academic institution
• Minimum of 3 years of teaching, training, and research experience at university level since becoming Lecturer
• Research Output Points comprising at least 24 points from refereed scholarly journals, 6 points from postgraduate student supervision, and 2 points from conference proceedings publications since appointment to Lecturer position
• Supervision of at least 3 postgraduate students to completion at lecturer level or equivalent
• Demonstrated participation and contribution at learned conferences, seminars, or workshops
• Evidence of continued research and evaluated effective teaching with demonstrated success in student supervision
• Active contribution to university life through departmental participation, student academic advising, committee membership, and school/university meetings
• Registration and recognition by relevant regulatory bodies where applicable
• Membership or affiliation with relevant professional bodies where applicable
• Evidence of having developed proposals that have attracted funding
