Job Summary

United States International University - USIU Africa seeks a dedicated Lecturer in Machine Learning and Big Data/Data Science. The successful candidate will report to the Dean of the School of Science and Technology (SST) and be expected to teach, conduct research, and engage in service performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Teach at undergraduate and graduate levels in Machine Learning, Big Data, and Data Science specializations
• Support and mentor students in their career development and academic pursuits
• Participate in curriculum development activities to ensure programs remain current and market-relevant
• Participate in program assessment and review processes
• Supervise students' research projects, theses, and dissertations at both undergraduate and graduate levels
• Conduct original research in areas of expertise
• Engage in service to the University, the profession, and the community
• Perform additional duties as assigned

Minimum Educational Qualifications

• An earned PhD or equivalent degree qualification in a relevant field from an accredited and recognized university, AND registration or eligibility for registration with the relevant professional body

OR

• A Master's degree in related areas from an accredited university

Required Professional Experience

• Minimum of 3 years' experience in teaching and/or industrial experience in the relevant field
• Minimum of twenty-four (24) publication points as per CUE Standards & Guidelines, 2014, of which at least sixteen (16) must be from refereed scholarly journal papers
• Registered or eligible for registration for a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) or equivalent Doctoral degree qualification
• Registration with the relevant professional body
