## Title: Lecturer in Applied Mathematics
Job Summary
The School of Science and Technology at USIU Africa seeks a dedicated Lecturer in Applied Mathematics. The successful candidate will report to the Dean of the School of Science and Technology and be expected to teach, conduct research, and engage in service to the university and community.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach undergraduate and graduate level courses in Applied Mathematics
- Support and mentor students in their academic and career development
- Participate in curriculum development activities to ensure programs remain current and marketable
- Participate in program assessment and reviews
- Supervise student research projects, theses, and dissertations at undergraduate and graduate levels
- Conduct research in your area of expertise
- Engage in service to the university, profession, and community
- Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Educational Qualifications and Professional Experience
To qualify for appointment, applicants must have:
Option 1: PhD Qualification
- An earned PhD or equivalent degree qualification in Applied Mathematics or a related field from an accredited and recognized university
- Registration or eligibility for registration with the relevant professional body
Option 2: Master's Degree
- A Master's degree in a related field from an accredited university
- A minimum of 3 years' experience in teaching and/or industrial experience in the relevant field
- A minimum of twenty-four (24) publication points as per CUE Standards & Guidelines 2014, of which at least sixteen (16) must be from refereed scholarly journal papers
- Enrollment in or commitment to pursue a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) or equivalent doctoral degree qualification
- Registration with the relevant professional body
