## Title: Key Accounts Manager - Supermarkets
About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated professional to join Peoplelink Consultants Ltd as a Key Accounts Manager in Nairobi, Kenya.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and grow key accounts by listing new products at head office levels and ensuring consistent follow-up on payments
- Oversee all supermarket tiers (including hypermarkets) through regular store visits to verify stock levels and timely order placement
- Lead the launch and promotion of new brands in the market to increase brand visibility and market share
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of sales merchandisers and promoters, ensuring they follow set schedules and execution standards
- Take full accountability for achieving monthly sales targets for the entire team and individual members
- Manage customer inventory levels, oversee order placement, track deliveries, and ensure a smooth replenishment process
- Monitor competitor activities and market trends to support data-driven strategic decision-making
- Develop in-depth knowledge of the company's portfolio and effectively communicate product benefits to both clients and internal teams
- Ensure all field activities are conducted safely and in alignment with company standards while utilizing the company vehicle responsibly
- Maintain accurate records of store visits, sales reports, and customer feedback in maintenance logbooks and digital records
Requirements
- 5–10 years of proven sales experience specifically in the distribution of alcoholic beverages to supermarkets and fuel stations
- Deep understanding of wines and spirits with extensive familiarity with the modern trade channel
- Strong existing relationships and a proven track record of listing new products with supermarket head offices
- High level of proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook for reporting and data management
- Valid driving license mandatory for field operations
- Prior experience in team leadership, specifically managing junior team members, sales merchandisers, and promoters
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
