KELC Final Project Audit (External) at African Union - InterAfrican Bureau for Animal Resources

Assignment Objective

As a Chartered Accountant/Auditor, you will conduct a comprehensive final audit of the KELC project implementation and finances. This position offers excellent opportunity for professional growth within an international organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Examine project implementation compliance with the project agreement, including inspection of infrastructure built and review of related documentation
• Review documentation of trainings and events to verify delivery of outputs
• Assess outputs and documentation to ascertain fact of delivery and form a general opinion on quality and appropriateness within professional competence limits
• Examine project finances to ensure all project agreement provisions were followed
• Verify that funds were used as intended and in compliance with project terms
• Confirm financial documentation complies with International Accounting Standards
• Review the financial report prepared by the Project Holder for fairness and accuracy
• Conduct audit in accordance with International Standards of Auditing
• Prepare audit certificate with certification documentation for both the firm and the person in charge of the audit

Audit Report Requirements

• Follow numerically listed structure used for record of accounts, providing source and disposition statement
• Explain the auditing mandate provided
• Account for all documents used in auditing proper use of funds and compliance with funding terms
• Justify any variance between budgeted and actual figures exceeding 20%, unless prior donor authorization was obtained
• Include financial reports as audited by the auditor
• Submit report in English
• Provide electronic copy of audit certification
