Junior Accountant at Emerge Egress Consulting

About the Role

We are seeking a qualified Junior Accountant to join our finance team. You will play a key role in supporting our financial operations, ensuring accurate reporting, and maintaining compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.

Core Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepare and present accurate and timely financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements in financial reporting
• Monitor and manage cash flow, optimizing liquidity to meet operational needs
• Implement strategies to efficiently manage working capital, balancing receivables and payables
• Identify and assess financial risks, developing and implementing risk mitigation strategies
• Conduct thorough cost analysis to identify areas for cost savings and efficiency improvements
• Implement measures to control expenses while maintaining operational effectiveness
• Ensure compliance with local authorities, statutory bodies, and tax authorities, as well as with internal controls
• Manage accounts receivable and oversee the monthly invoicing cycle and reconciliations
• Prepare management reports, financial statements, and other finance-related reports and correspondence
• Resolve finance-related queries and ensure smooth operations of all finance matters
• Manage creditors and ensure timely payment, taking into account settlement discounts
• Oversee debt collection where required and assist with problem-solving
• Maintain and nurture strong relationships with banking partners to optimize financial services
• Ensure smooth and efficient bank reconciliations and transaction management
• Ensure timely and accurate supplier payments while maintaining positive relationships and optimizing cash flow
• Maintain records and documentation for financial transparency
• Perform additional duties as allocated

Qualifications and Requirements

• Bachelor of Commerce (B-Com) Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Financial Management
• CPA Intermediate Level
