ISP Technician- Mombasa at Fireside Engineering Group

About the Role

Fireside Group Ltd is seeking a qualified ISP Technician to join our team in Mombasa. In this position, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting fiber optic network infrastructure while ensuring excellent customer service and adherence to service level agreements.

Key Responsibilities

• Install and terminate fiber optic cables and other network equipment
• Resolve loss of services and connections within SLA timeframes
• Update tickets timely and close them with clear resolution notes once resolved
• Splice fiber optics at various fiber distribution hubs
• Troubleshoot and test fiber links using light sources, optical power meters, and OTDR equipment
• Perform fiber link faulting and fault resolution within service level agreements
• Provide timely updates on fiber faults to NOC personnel
• Educate clients on basic troubleshooting processes and answer fiber optic-related questions
• Observe health and safety guidelines and ensure quality assurance throughout implementation and maintenance periods
• Work collaboratively with other technicians and NOC personnel under field supervisor guidance
• Perform any other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

• Minimum Certificate in Fiber Optics
• At least 1 year of experience in fiber optics
• Proficiency in fiber handling and maintenance
• Strong problem-solving skills and technical expertise
