About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated professional to join Skills Geographic Kenya (SGK) in Nairobi. The Human Resource Officer will be responsible for supporting the implementation of HR policies, procedures, and systems to ensure efficient management of human capital within the manufacturing plant.
The role involves handling recruitment, employee relations, performance management, compliance, and general HR administration in alignment with the company's goals and statutory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Support recruitment and onboarding processes for factory and administrative staff
- Maintain accurate employee records, contracts, and HR documentation
- Oversee timekeeping, attendance management, and payroll support
- Handle employee grievances and disciplinary procedures in line with the Employment Act (Kenya)
- Ensure compliance with labour laws, occupational health and safety, and company policies
- Coordinate training and development programs to enhance staff productivity
- Support performance management processes
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or related field
- Higher Diploma in HR Management (CHRP qualification is an added advantage)
- Sound knowledge of Kenya Labour Laws, HR best practices, and workplace health and safety regulations
- Minimum 3 to 5 years of HR experience in a busy company environment
- Experience in the manufacturing sector is an added advantage
- Availability to work closely with production teams and support shifts when necessary
Required Skills
- Proficiency in HRIS systems and MS Office Suite
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Excellent problem-solving abilities
- Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and integrity
Compensation
KSHS 150,000 - 180,000 per month plus company benefits
