Head of Programmes at Terre des hommes (TDH)

About the Role

We are seeking a qualified professional to lead our programmes portfolio and drive strategic programme development across our key impact areas. You will oversee project design, fundraising, portfolio management, and strategic analysis to ensure the highest quality delivery aligned with our global priorities.

Project Design and Fundraising

• Lead the development of concepts and proposals within TDH's global strategic priorities: Health and Nutrition, Access to Justice, Children and Youth on the Move, and Child Rights in Business
• Source and build relationships with potential funding partners who support projects in TDH's impact areas
• Ensure quality assurance of proposals, budgets, and log-frames with well-written, structured proposals that appeal to corporate audiences
• Manage all grant management tools accurately and on time to ensure effective donor compliance and business development

Portfolio Management

• Ensure all projects remain on scope, on schedule, and within budget
• Maintain current and updated project management tools on a monthly basis
• Lead monthly programme review meetings across programme and support departments focused on delivery, quality, and planning
• Champion child-led approaches across all initiatives
• Ensure compliance with TDH policies on PSEAH, safeguarding, and best practices
• Produce analysis and reports for Senior Management Team decision-making
• Monitor and maintain accountability for programme quality standards
• Act as a focal point and intermediary between regional technical advisors and field teams
• Collaborate with support services departments on prioritization for effective programme delivery
• Lead the programme quality framework and ensure log-frames are of high quality and relevance
• Maintain detailed context, needs, and gaps analyses with recommendations for intervention strategies to support vulnerable children
• Ensure high-quality donor reports

Strategy and Analysis

• Ensure implementation of programme elements within TDH's annual action plan
• Identify needs and propose responses based on TDH's strengths and added value
• Identify complementary opportunities for programme enhancement
