About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated professional to join St. Joseph's Technical Institute, Nyang'oma as a Hairdressing and Beauty Therapy Trainer.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and deliver lessons to all students in class
• Teach according to the educational needs, abilities, and achievements of individual students and groups
• Adopt and work towards the implementation of the school development plan
• Assign work, correct, and mark work carried out by students
• Assess, record, and report on the development, progress, attainment, and behavior of students
• Provide or contribute to oral and written assignments, reports, and references relating to individual students or groups
• Participate in arrangements within an agreed national framework for the appraisal of students' performance
• Promote the general progress and well-being of individual students, groups, or classes entrusted to you
• Provide guidance and advice to students on educational and social matters, further education, and future careers; provide information on sources of expert advice
• Participate in in-service education and training courses, continuing professional development opportunities, and action research exercises
• Maintain good order and discipline amongst students under your care and safeguard their health and safety at all times
• Perform any other duties as assigned by supervisors

Requirements

• Minimum Diploma (Level 6) in Hairdressing and Beauty Therapy from a recognized institution
• Diploma in Technical Education from Kenya School of TVET
• Valid TVETA number
• At least 2 years of relevant experience
• Computer literacy
• Valid Certificate of Good Conduct
