Job Purpose

The jobholder is responsible for providing nursing services within the respective unit, ensuring that patients and clients receive quality care in line with hospital policies and regulations. This position offers excellent opportunities for professional career growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess assigned patients' needs and develop appropriate care plans
• Organize and coordinate nursing care and medical treatments
• Monitor and record vital signs accurately
• Document patient assessments and interventions provided
• Administer nutrition via nasogastric tubes and other enteral feeding methods
• Manage fluid administration and monitor patients' fluid intake and output
• Administer medications as prescribed
• Perform personal hygiene care including bed baths, oral care, and other hygiene tasks for bedridden patients
• Perform daily unit maintenance tasks including cleaning, bed making, and dusting
• Prevent pressure ulcers through regular repositioning and patient mobilization activities
• Perform wound care and dressing changes as needed
• Practice infection prevention and control techniques, including proper handwashing and waste management
• Establish intravenous access for patients as required
• Perform urinary catheterization procedures
• Assist patients with mobilization and ambulation
• Administer nebulization treatments
• Prepare patients for discharge and facilitate their safe return home
• Provide comprehensive patient care handover during shift changes
• Maintain the unit in accordance with hospital policy with minimal supervision
• Ensure workplace safety by maintaining a clean, safe, and pleasant environment
• Maintain familiarity with legal and ethical implications of nursing practice
• Promote effective interpersonal and public relations
• Provide health education and counseling to individuals, families, and community members
• Identify research topics and participate in operational-level research activities
